How did you define ABECB in this study?

Patients with chronic bronchitis as defined by the American Thoracic Society were candidates for the study. If they developed a type I or type II Anthonisen exacerbation (at a minimum, increased sputum volume and sputum purulence) they were eligible for enrollment.
