You mentioned that the 750 mg dose has a similar tolerability to the 500 mg dose. Could you comment further on this?

I have not found a difference in the incidence of side effects with the 500 or 750 mg levofloxacin dose. However, while the toxic to therapeutic ratio for levofloxacin is very good, that is not true for some of the other fluoroquinolones where the higher dose is associated with a greater incidence of side effects, even with ciprofloxacin, generally considered to be a well-tolerated drug.
